Dave Light

Although Dave started playing harmonica at the age of four, it wasn’t until living in Louisiana he become immersed in the blues. Dave spent his spare time in the French Quarter of New Orleans listening to street bands play the highly emotional sound of the music called “blues.” Hooked on the blues, Dave went back to California and began studying harmonica under David Barrett.

David Barrett started the Harmonica Masterclass of which Dave helped teach enthusiastic harmonica players all over the US. It was then Dave started learning how to play blues and 1991 Dave and fellow musicians formed the blues band Trials and Tribulations. They played most of the major blues venues in the Bay area for several years. In 2019, along with Tim Child, Mark Pitts and Jim Cummings, the Trials and Tribulations Blues Band was re-born in Boise, Idaho. Dave was raised in Idaho and after being gone for 25 years is living back in Boise helping promote the appreciation of the “Blues.” Currently, Light is president of the Boise Blues Society.

Dominic Furiani

Dominic Furiani, new to the Boise area, is the lead guitarist for Trials and Tribulations. Originally from San Dimas California, Dominic cut his teeth on guitar performing in the greater Los Angeles area throughout his 20’s. He studied music at California State University Long Beach where he received his master’s in music education. Dominic has spent much of his music career to this point as a jazz and commercial guitarist as well as a music educator.

Jeff Norvell

Started my musical journey on Tuba in 7th grade.  Onto trombone, baritone and eventually the drums in school.  I fell in love with the Blues and have played in numerous blues bands throughout southern Idaho. Sirah Storm, Richard Soliz, Russ Martin to name a few.  I’m proud to be performing with some of the best musicians in this area by far, and excited for the future of TNT.

Ralph Getchell

Before he retired from the military, TnT bassman Ralph “Biggles” Getchell rocked audiences in such remote locations as Panama, Korea, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and lower Alabama. After moving to Boise, Biggles regularly laid down the bottom line at Boise Blues Society jam sessions and backed local favorites Ken Harris and Richard Soliz. Later, he joined vocalist Dale Cusamano in Deja Bluez, which played at blues venues around the Treasure Valley, including two appearances at the Idaho Botanical Garden. For over a decade he provided the bottom line in a series of local rock cover bands, most recently the B-Town Hitmen.
